About Us
We started small with a tiny garden and realized how much better everything tastes when it is fresh and in season. Over the years we created a big garden, growing almost everything, from heirloom tomatoes to potatoes, beans, beets, herbs, garlic... plums, apples... Since 20 years we are interested in whole foods, with no pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, chemical fertilizer. We try to use organic products as much as we can, substituting vinegar for apple vinegar and using as little salt and sugar as possible. On our farm we have all kinds of animals, horses, jersey cows, pigs, chicken, turkeys, ducks and geese and guinea hens. We try to live in harmony with nature and provide the best life for our animals.

In our staple organic bread we use organic spelt, organic rye, sunflower seeds, sour dough, well water, honey and salt. By the way, we mill the flour in our own grain mill.

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Almost everything that we sell in a jar is grown on our farm. Exceptions are being made, we do not grow pineapple or oranges for example.

Buying through the Ottawa Valley Food Co-op (OVFC) is important to me. By making a monthly pick up, I not only save on gas driving around the county picking up food, I know where it comes from. Having a relationship with producers, close by, means that if I have a concern about a product I know where to go for answers. Local producers live in the community and pay taxes here. They are invested and that feels right. I also have a better chance at obtaining food and products that are more healthful and less likely to harm me and the place I live.

It just makes so much sense.
