About Us
Hedgeview Farm is a market garden grown on my family's former dairy farm. My focus and goal is to provide local sustainable organic food to the Ottawa Valley. Farming has been moving further and further away from the "family farm" and in that so much is lost. I want to carry forward our farm and keep it small and family-run because I believe that this is where more love and care and taste is found in the food we raise and grow... and especially in those who farm it and eat it. With regards to our prepared foods such as tomato juices, pickles, pesto, etc. I must note that these are all prepared in my private kitchen, which is not federally inspected. I will say however that I personally consume the same food that I sell and handle it all in the same careful manner as if it were for my own consumption. I have completed a safe food handling course and have worked in many commercial kitchens and bakeries and I institute care and respect in my preparation and cooking.

Practices (our standards for raising or making our products)
Our farm operates as close as possible to the Organic Production Systems, General Principles, and Management Practices regulations issued by the Canadian Government for Organic Farms. We grow our products on rested fertile cow pasture soil, free of any chemical or synthetic fertilizer application. We use certified organic potting soil and certified organic seed for our produce. Non-Inspected Kitchen Statement: With regards to our prepared foods such as relishes, pickles, pesto, etc. I must note that these are all prepared in my private kitchen, which is not federally inspected.
